Internet access from Clifton, TN does not exist, but I can send a short note from th BB.
1st day of riding was tough, but not as tough as our imaginations had made it. Heat was the biggest factor, and that we were all vertically challenged today. Highlights: 1st hill is officially dubbed "breakfast hill" because breakfast was in your throat when you climbed. The A team rode in record time, and we played tourist. Angela is sick, but finished most of the day. Shirley got lost. Everybody tired and happy to finish first day.
More detail and pictures later.

Well, Allen and Beth It sounds like a fun trip/adventure. I hope ya'll are having fun. If you can put a picture of ya'll on the bike. It sounds pretty cool. I hope the weather holds. Enjoy!

Kenneth and Dianne,Hang in there! We're pulling for you! See you Saturday at the bluff!
Sounds like the trip is getting off to a good start. Angie, I still can't believe you are doing this, but I am really impressed! I had to crack up at the post about Mrs. Shirley and her always fashionable attire. However, I have heard that Prada breathes better. HA! Stay strong and have fun.

Neat picture of the group in the Democrat Sunday. I brought my copy to the office this morning for one of you to keep. Congratulations on surviving day1 in the van as well as day2 in hillbilly country!

Hey!
Wishing y'all a GREAT day. Be sure and drink plenty of water, the humidity is high today.

Hope Angie has a better day today. I know how hard she has trained for this adventure. Try to keep up with Shirley today. It's been nice sitting here in the air-conditioning reading about your trip. Keep them coming, Allen.
Good luck to all.

Sounds beastly. Hope the hills aren't too bad today. Good job calling only once yesterday by the way. Love you guys and be careful.
Allen and Beth,
Julia Rachel & I watched ya'll pack up on Saturday, we thought what an awesome trip that would be, but I would enjoy it better in a car!
Good luck, hope you were able to descend a little today. Maybe a little rain will cool things off for ya'll. Stay well.

Hey, Everybody,
I just finished teaching my first class of the summer. Gee, I wish I were out riding my bike with ya'll! I'm glad to hear everybody made it through the first day, but I would like to know more about Shirley getting lost! How does one get lost on the Trace? Isn't that pretty much a straight shot? Can't wait to read more,
Jan P.
I hope you guys are having a great time and getting to enjoy the trip a bit! All work and no looking makes for a busy ride! Take a look around and soak in the beauty for a min... oops.. did I say soak. Scratch that last sentance!

Allen and Beth,
It was great to run into you both yesterday morning. Have fun and be safe. I tried to leave something on this last night, so sorry if I'm being redundant.
Britt
Grams and Gramps - very proud of you guys. Keep pedaling! Hopefully, today it will be all downhill. Avery
